Meet Robin FlaniganRobin Flanigan

Education: Eastern Michigan University
Home town: Wyandotte, Michigan
Favorite book: The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub

Favorite way to spend time away from work: I like going to dance class, reading, listening to music, and spending time at home with family. To relax, I enjoy spa treatments, massages, pedicures, and manicures.

Favorite food:
Robin: I like everything except seafood. My favorite would have to be Mexican.

What couldn’t you live without?
Robin: My children and grandchildren.

Have you always worked in accounting?
Robin: Yes, but in a lot of different fields. They all have their own little quirks.

How long have you worked at Compu Dynamics?
Robin: I came to Compu Dynamics in October 2011 during the merger with Loudon Electric. I had just started with Loudon in July 2011, so I had just gotten my feet wet when we merged.

What’s a typical day like at Compu Dynamics?
Robin: Some days are routine and some are more fast-paced. Everything is “as needed,” so a day is never exactly what you plan. I’ve had a variety of responsibilities since I started, including accounts payable, licensing, and vehicle tracking. Currently, I mainly do payroll, some HR, accounts receivable, billing, purchase orders, job set up, contract and government billing, and research. I also help answer the door and phones, take shipments in the warehouse when necessary, and assist employees at any given time. Accounting isn’t just paying bills and handling payroll—there’s no typical day. And it continues to change as our team grows.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?
Robin: I love that there’s a variety of things to do—it’s never dull. And of course, I enjoy the people I work with.

What is Compu Dynamics’ approach to customer service?
Robin: We put our customers first. That’s why we don’t have voice mail—we value a personal touch. We make every effort to take calls immediately and return calls promptly. We cater to the specific needs of each individual customer—that’s very important to us. We aren’t just a production line, spitting things out and then forgetting about it. We follow up to ensure customers are satisfied, always making sure they get the personal attention they deserve.

What would customers be interested to learn about Compu Dynamics?
Robin: Steve and Lee are great people to work for. They genuinely care about helping not only their employees, but also the businesses we work with and the community as a whole. They’re very involved in the community, and I think that’s a great indicator of the type of company we are.
